Wrigley Field Renovations a Show Case for FABTECH Industry Sectors

In Manufacturing Industry News by Staff Report

We continue our Chicago themed blogs with a closer look at the proposed renovations to historic Wrigley Field – home of the Chicago Cubs.

Built in 1914, Wrigley field is the second oldest ballpark in the major league (Boston’s Fenway Park was build in 2012).  There is no better place to watch a baseball game, but like any  99 year old, the stadium is starting to show its age.

Cubs owners have announced a $500 million plan to expand and restore Wrigley Field.  This video from www.wrigleyfield.com provides an overview of the renovation plan:

The renovations require a variety of approvals ranging from the Commission on City Landmarks to the Chicago City Council.

It’s appropriate that the next FABTECH show will be held in Chicago on November 18-21, 2013.  FABTECH showcases industries that will be critical to the Wrigley Field renovation project, including metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing.  Where else better to see world-class suppliers, the latest industry products and developments and much more than at FABTECH?

And Go Cubs!
