2010 Mexico City Show Sets Record Attendance

For the second consecutive year the FABTECH - AWS Weldmex - Metalform Mexico Expo broke exhibit space and attendance records. Exhibit space at the Mexico event increased 29% and the 7,926 attendees was an increase of 34% over the 2009 show.

The mega event brought FABTECH Mexico, AWS Weldmex and METALFORM Mexico together to provide attendees a "one-stop-shop" environment to see the latest equipment and processes from an array of metal forming, fabricating and welding technologies. Attendees traveled from all parts of Mexico and South America to attend this show.

"We could not be more pleased with the turnout of buyers in attendance. This event is now the largest manufacturing show in Latin America." said Jerry Shankel, President of the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association, Int'l.

Positive indicators appear on the exhibit side as well. Exhibit space was 44,000 net square feet with 234 exhibiting companies compared to 34,000 square feet and 204 exhibitors in 2009.

Today Mexico is one of the world's leading manufacturing countries, and a major consumer and exporter of manufactured goods. FABTECH Mexico puts exhibitors face-to-face with this lucrative and growing marketplace." said Mark Hoper, show manager for FABTECH Mexico.

The exposition, sponsored by the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association, International (FMA), the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), American Welding Society (AWS), and the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), will hold its next event on May 11-13, 2011 in Monterrey, Mexico.
