On Tuesdays at FABTECH, we talk taxes.
How would you like to do something good for your community and get a tax break for doing it? We thought so.
The American Jobs for America’s Heroes (AJAH) campaign is a nonprofit alliance to connect highly trained National Guard members with companies like yours. You might be surprised to know how many skills members of the Guard gain through training and deployment. In all, the National Guard trains in 107 occupational specialties, most of which are relevant to civilian jobs. You can see some in these photos which were taken by National Guard and Army photographers during actual deployments.
Not only could the skills, preparedness, discipline and perseverance that these brave men and women have dedicated to protecting and serving our country be put to good use in your company, but you can get tax incentives for hiring American heroes.
Now, we know that the tax code is complicated and so does AJAH which is why they put out a free publication prepared by Caplin & Drysdale to help you. This federal tax benefits guideline booklet offers clear and concise information along with step-by-step guidance. It even includes links to the required IRS and DoL forms employers need to submit. With this booklet in hand, you’ll be able to find out if your company is eligible for tax credits and learn how to file for:
- Returning Heroes Tax Credit
- Wounded Warrior Tax Credit
- Activated Military Reservist Credit for Small Businesses
- Federal Empowerment Zone Employment Credit
