FABTECH Mobile App FAQ

The FABTECH Mobile App offers you access to exposition and conference information while on the go. The native iPhone/iPad App is available on the iTunes App Store, and the Android App on Google Play. In addition, the ChirpE Mobile Web App provides real-time access to event info and updates for all internet enabled smartphones. Once you have installed the app on your device you can access exhibitor lists and profiles, the interactive floor plan, the conference schedule, session details, and speaker profiles, as well as build your personalized planner – all in a matter of minutes.

Q. How much does the Mobile App cost?

Answer:

The Mobile App is FREE to exhibitors and attendees.

Q. On what devices will the Mobile App work?

Answer:

The Mobile App is available for iPhone, iPad, and iTouch users on iTunes, for all Android users on Google play and for all web-enabled smartphones on ChirpE.

Interactive Floor Plan

Q. How do I view the Interactive Floor Plan?

Answer:

You can view the Interactive Floor Plan by clicking the “Maps” icon on the home screen.  You may first be shown a list of the available maps for your event if there is more than one map. Click on the map that you would like to see. The map will highlight booths belonging to the exhibitors that you have added to your Personalized Planner. You can also view an exhibitor’s profile from the map view by clicking on their booth.

Exhibitors

Q. How can I view a list of exhibitors?

Answer:

Click on the “Exhibitors” icon on the home screen.  You will see a list of all the current exhibitors listed in alphabetical order.  If you prefer, you can view exhibitors by product categories. Click on the “By Product Category” tab to view a list of all the available product categories and the number of exhibitors who have selected each of these.  Click on a product category to view a list of the exhibitors in that category.  The exhibitor’s booth number or numbers are displayed below their name. The video icon indicates that they have uploaded multimedia content.  Add the exhibitor to your Personalized Planner by clicking the check box.

Q. How can I search for exhibitors?

Answer:

You can search for exhibitors by typing a keyword in the search box at the top of the Exhibitor list screen.  The results will include all exhibitors that have this keyword in their company name, profile, brands or product categories.

Q. How can I view an exhibitor's eBooth?

Answer:

You can visit the eBooth for any company by clicking on their name in the Exhibitor list.  You will see the company’s contact information, description, product categories and videos they have uploaded.  To play the video on your device, just click on the video. From this screen you can add the exhibitor as a favorite to your Personalized Planner by clicking on the star icon. You can also view the location of their booth on the floor plan by clicking on the “Map it” button.  The exhibitor’s booth will be highlighted on the floor plan.

Q. How do I add an exhibitor as a favorite to my Personalized Planner?

Answer:

From any Exhibitor screen you can add the exhibitor as a favorite to your personalized planner by clicking on the star icon.

Q. How do I see the location of an exhibitor's booth?

Answer:

From the exhibitor's eBooth click on the "Map It" button to see their booth highlighted on the floor plan.

Q. How do I add notes about a specific exhibitor?

Answer:

From the exhibitor's eBooth click on the "Notes" button to add personal notes about this exhibitor. You can save these notes to your planner. You can also email your notes to a contact by clicking the arrow in the center of the screen.

Q. How do I mark an exhibitor as having visited their booth?

Answer:

From the exhibitor's eBooth click on the "Booth Visited" button to record that you have visited this exhibitor's booth. This exhibitor will also be added to your Planner and flagged as having been visited.

Q. How do I request a meeting with an exhibitor?

From the exhibitor's eBooth click on the "Add Meeting" button.  You will then be asked to choose a date and time and add a personal message. Click "Save" and your email requesting a meeting will be sent to the exhibitor.

Q. How do I view a map of my favorite exhibitors

Answer:

You can access the Walking Map from the home screen which is provided in a PDF format.  The walking map includes a numbered list of your favorite exhibitors and color coded booths on the floor plan maps. This is a great option for referencing while you are on show floor attending the event. You may also view your favorite exhibitors from the "Maps" screen which will show you the Interactive Floor Plan with your favorite exhibitor's booths highlighted.

Q. How do I view exhibitor videos?

Answer:

You can view exhibitor videos from the main screen by clicking the "Video" icon. You will then see a list of exhibitors and their videos. Just click on the video to view it.  You can also access videos from an exhibitor's eBooth page.  If they offer videos they will be located at the bottom of the screen.

Sessions

Q. How do I view a schedule of sessions offered?

Answer:

Click on the “Schedule” icon on the home screen. You will see a schedule of offered sessions sorted by day and time.  The relevant room numbers are also listed below each session. To view sessions for a different day, click on the arrows at the top on the left and right. If you are looking for a session on a specific topic you can search for a session by typing a keyword in the search box at the top.

Q. How do I view a list of sessions in each track?

Answer:

Click the “Tracks” icon on the home screen.  The sessions are shown grouped by track and then sorted by day and time.  Click on a track name to view the list of sessions in this track.

Q. How do I search for sessions based on speakers?

Answer:

If you would like to search for sessions based on speakers you may want to use the "Speaker" icon located on the home screen. Here you will see a list of speakers in alphabetical order, by their last name. Once you are on a speaker’s page you can click on a session title to see a complete session description.

Q. How do I add sessions to my Personalized Planner?

Answer:

To add one or more sessions to your Personalized Planner, click on the star icon. A golden star indicates a session added to your Personalized Planner. Click on the ‘Planner’ icon on the home screen, and view all your favorite sessions listed under the sessions tab.

Q. How do I add a session to my mobile device's calendar?

Answer:

From the session screen click the "Add to Device Calendar" button.

Q. How do I map the location of the session?

Answer:

From the session screen click the "Map It" button to see the location of the session highlighted.

Q. How do I add notes about a particular session?

Answer:

From the session screen click the "Notes" button to add personal notes about this session. You can save these notes to your planner. You can also email these notes to a contact by clicking the arrow in the center of the screen.

Q. How do I view handouts from a session?

Answer:

Once you are on the session screen, scroll to the bottom of the session description and you will see a list of handouts.  Click on the handout that you would like to view.  By clicking the arrow button in the top right corner you can choose to email or print out the handout.

Q. How do I rate a session?

Answer:

At the bottom of the session screen there is a "Rate this Session" button.  Click on the button and complete the questionnaire. Then click "Finish Survey".

Personalized Planner

Q. How do I manage my Personalized Planner?

Answer:

From the home screen, click on the “Planner” icon.   Here you can manage the exhibitors, sessions, and meetings that you have added to your Personalized Planner. 

Q. How do I view a list of Exhibitor's Booths that I have visited?

Answer:

From the home screen, click on the “Planner” icon.   Then click on "My Exhibitors" to view a list of exhibitors that are your favorites or that you have visited. Those that you have visited will have a green check mark to the right of their name.

Q. How do I view and update my Itinerary?

Answer:

From the home screen, click on the “Planner” icon.   Then click on "My Itinerary" to see your schedule by day.  This will include any sessions you have added to your calendar, meetings you have made with exhibitors, and personal meetings.  To add a meeting or to request a meeting click on the calendar icon at the bottom of the screen. Then choose the day and time and add any personal notes or messages. Click save to choose an email recipient for your meeting request or click cancel to only save the appointment to your calendar.

Walking Map

Q. How do I view my Walking Map?

Answer:

You can access the Walking Map from the home screen which is provided in a PDF format.  The walking map includes a numbered list of your favorite exhibitors and color coded booths on the floor plan maps. This is a great option for referencing while you are on show floor attending the event.

Notes

Q. How do I view the exhibitor and session notes that I have made?

Answer:

From the home screen, click the "Notes" icons. You will see a list of of your exhibitor, session and personal notes. Click on any entry to see more details. To email the notes to a contact click the arrow in the bottom left corner.

Q. How do I view information about the local area?

Answer:

From the home screen, click the "Local Info" icon. You will see information about hotels, airports, car rental and more.

Q. How do I view a description of the event?

Answer:

From the home screen, click the "Event Info" icon. You will be shown information general information about the event.

Q. How do I view a list of exhibitor press releases?

Answer:

From the home screen, click the "News" icon. A list of exhibitor press releases that have been submitted to the show management will be shown in alphabetical order by the exhibitor's name.

Q. How do I view a list of exhibitor show specials?

Answer:

From the home screen, click the "Show Specials" icon. A list of exhibitor show specials that have been submitted to the show management will be shown in alphabetical order by the exhibitor's name.

Q. How do I view a list of featured exhibitor products?

Answer:

From the home screen, click the "Products" icon. A list of featured exhibitor products will be shown in alphabetical order by the exhibitor's name.

Q. How do I catch up on the "Buzz" around the event?

Answer:

From the home screen, click the "Buzz" icon. You will see a list of announcements from show management listed in order of their announcement with the most recent first.

Social Media

Q. How do I follow event updates on Facebook?

Answer:

From the home screen, click the "Facebook" icon. This will take you to the event's Facebook page so that you can quickly and easily track their activity.

Q. How do I I follow event Twitter posts?

Answer:

From the home screen, click the "Twitter" icon. This will take you to the event's Twitter page so that you can quickly and easily track their activity. From here you can also follow a post, reply to a post, retweet a post and mark a tweet as a favorite.

Q. How do I follow blog posts from the show management?

Answer:

From the home screen, click the "Blog" icon. This will take you to the event's blog page so that you can quickly and easily read their articles.
