Women in Finishing FORUM Set to Debut May 9-11

Powered by the Chemical Coaters Association International CCAI is hosting the first Women in Finishing FORUM which will be held at the Embassy Suites South Bend at Notre Dame from May 9-11, 2019.  Women in Finishing (WiF) provides a platform that fosters professional and personal development for women who have chosen or are pursuing a career in the industrial finishing industry. WiF is inclusive of all levels and responsibilities within the finishing industry, from the finishing line to executive management.

More than 50 women attended the 2018 WiF Reception held in CCAI’s booth at FABTECH in Atlanta, GA.

CCAI began its Women in Finishing initiative with a networking reception at FABTECH 2017 in Chicago. The response exceeded expectations, leading to the official establishment of Women in Finishing (WiF) under CCAI.  2019 will feature the expansion of WiF programming, including the Women in Finishing FORUM. “We are thrilled with the response to our WiF reception at FABTECH the past two years and are excited to grow WiF programming to further meet the needs of women in industrial finishing,” notes CCAI’s VP of Strategic Initiatives, Sheila LaMothe. “Our inaugural WiF FORUM is a major step towards achieving this goal. Holding the event at the University of Notre Dame provides access to unique speakers who will complement our industry experts resulting in an outstanding, well-rounded program.”

WiF Reception participants had the opportunity to network with their industry peers. The WiF FORUM will expand these opportunities.

The 2019 FORUM program contains a variety of professional and personal development sessions and workshops geared toward women, as well as networking and team building activities.  The Women in Finishing FORUM kicks off the morning of May 9 with “Building a Championship Mindset,” a powerful presentation that will put participants in the ideal frame of mind to get the most out of the outstanding FORUM program.  Additional presentation highlights include: “My Journey to Leadership,” “Opportunities in Advanced Manufacturing,” “Navigating Conflict Effectively” and “The Impact Wellness has on Success”. The WiF FORUM provides the perfect balance of professional development sessions and networking. The event kicks off with a Welcome Reception, giving attendees the opportunity to meet fellow participants.  There will be a scavenger hunt on the campus of Notre Dame designed to improve team building, leadership, problem solving and communication skills.  Attendees will enjoy a dinner on Friday evening and wake up Saturday for an optional Wellness Walk before the closing presentation and brunch, providing the perfect platform to review program highlights and takeaways, set goals, and exchange contact information with new friends. CCAI has a discounted group rate of $124 + tax at the Embassy Suites South Bend at Notre Dame.  Rooms are limited at this rate and the deadline for the discount is April 8.
