FABTECH 2019 Special Events You Don’t Want to Miss

FABTECH, North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event set for November 11-14 at McCormick Place in Chicago is pleased to announce the special event lineup for 2019. This includes the FABx Tech Talk series, keynote presentations, expert panel discussions, and interactive networking events. Exclusively focused on advancing the metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing industries around the world, FABTECH offers an unmatched trade show experience. FABTECH provides manufacturing professionals the opportunity to learn and network on and off the show floor with live dynamic keynote sessions and networking events. Day one keynote presentations, which feature FABx Tech Talks designed to emulate the TED-style concept,will feature a powerful lineup of visionary veterans who have served in the military. These are heroes with incredible stories who have gone on to excel in leadership, business, advanced manufacturing and workforce development. Speakers include: Chad Hennings, NFL Super Bowl Champion;  Hernán Luis y Prado, President of Workshop for Warriors; Jason T. Ray, CEO of Paperless Parts; Shelly C. Rood, Educational Consultant; and Michael Walton, Industry Solution Executive of Microsoft. FABTECH 2019 days two and three will offer exciting keynote presentations by Frank Abagnale Jr., Bestselling Author & Subject of “Catch Me If You Can”; and Grant Imahara, Former Host on Discovery’s Mythbusters & Animatronics Engineering Expert. Renowned international cybersecurity and fraud-prevention expert Frank Abagnale will present a two-part keynote. During the first part of his speech Abagnale will provide entertaining insight into his life as the notorious imposter of the 1960s. He will then instruct attendees on how to protect themselves and their businesses from fraud. On stage for day three, Grant Imahara provides a behind-the-scenes look at his work on various sets and productions while also touching on the importance of advancing the engineering/manufacturing industry. This animatronics engineer and Industrial Light & Magic alum (Matrix sequels, A.I., Galaxy Quest, Terminator 3, Van Helsing, and Star Wars: Episodes 1-3) brings audiences inside the thrilling world of science and entertainment as only the former host of Discovery Channel’s “Mythbusters” can and shares his experiences in science, which includes a current consulting role for Walt Disney Imagineering, where he works on next-generation robots to go into Disney’s theme parks. Special events provide opportunities for the industry to gather, network, exchange ideas and collaborate with peers.
