Raise Your Finishing Operations Safety Standards

Be honest! How often do you think about and review safety details in your facility? The answer is likely “not often enough.” Fires, explosions and injuries do not happen often in the finishing industry, but they DO happen.  For the first time, the Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI) is offering a comprehensive Industrial Finishing Safety Seminar.  This inaugural event will be held April 5 & 6 at the Fabricators and Manufacturer’s Association (FMA) headquarters in Elgin, IL.  CCAI and FMA are partners in FABTECH shows across North America.

Developed by industry experts well-versed in safety for finishing operations, the seminar focuses on NFPA 33, the Standard for Spray Application Using Flammable or Combustible Materials.  Attendees will learn critical information to safely operate an industrial finishing line.

Seminar speaker, Doug Smilor of John Deere states “I strongly believe in this training. It is desperately needed in the finishing industry!”  This training course will provide important safety guidelines, examples and explanations of the NFPA 33 Standard.  Attendees will learn critical information on how to safely operate an industrial finishing line and have plenty of opportunity to get questions answered.

Topics covered in this seminar include:

• An introduction to safety

• General requirements and construction/design
• Electrical and electrostatic spray equipment
• Ventilation
• Storage handling & distribution
