FAB to FINISH Production Experience

FABTECH 2022 will mark the fifth edition of the Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI) FAB to FINISH Production Experience. Providing show attendees the opportunity to see a part produced from fabrication to finishing, FAB to FINISH participants are able to experience each production step first-hand. Attendees pick up a laser cut souvenir part and a production route card from fabrication partner, Mazak, in booth B7541. The production route card takes participants to exhibitors in the FINISHING Pavilion for a variety of finishing processes. All production routes include pretreatment, powder coating, and curing. Participants are able to try their hand at powder coating their own part – a program favorite.

Since its inception in 2017, the FAB to FINISH Production Experience has expanded, adding selective plating at FABTECH 2021. This year, masking and paint stripping will be included in the program. One production route will take participants to selective plating which will include the masking step where they will have the opportunity to mask their own part at the Mighty Hook booth B4900. Another production route will include paint stripping and will begin at the Atotech USA booth B4629. In this route, pre-coated parts will be stripped, pretreated, powder coated and cured.

The addition of new production steps to the program provides more opportunity to educate show attendees on a variety of finishing-related processes. Regardless of the production route, participants will learn about laser cutting and finishing first-hand and will have a beautifully finished FABTECH souvenir to take home.

FAB to FINISH is open to all FABTECH attendees. No preregistration is needed. Just stop by the Mazak or Atotech USA booth to pick up your part and production route card.
