FABTECH Panel Focuses on Additive Manufacturing Industry

By: Carl Dekker, Met-L-Flo, Inc With FABTECH approaching quickly, the Met-L-Flo, Inc. team is excited to participate and lead discussions on the growing Additive Manufacturing industry. My name is Carl Dekker, Met-L-Flo, Inc. President and I will be the moderator for a discussion panel on the development trends in additive manufacturing and 3D printing. The purpose of this panel is to educate the industry on the growth of additive manufacturing by using real world case studies. We will touch on why manufacturing companies should incorporate additive manufacturing processes. When a manufacturing company is contemplating operations with AM, there are a few critical areas of consideration. The panel will highlight the most important areas to consider for adding successful AM capabilities. They will also go in depth on the necessities for starting and running an effective AM business while making your brand prominent among the competition. The future of the industry is dependent on the evolution of available processes and the acceptance of standards by authoritative bodies. I will discuss how the expansion of technology and new standards for more efficient manufacturing are pushing the industry in a positive direction. My fellow panelists include:
  • Jennifer Cipolla, Center for Additive Technology Advancement, GE
  • Steve Immel, Americas Business Development, Materialise USA
  • Robert Henderson,  Director of Additive Manufacturing, Linear Mold & Engineering, Inc.
  • David Lakatos, Chief Product Officer, Formlabs
This session is open to anyone attending FABTECH so join us on Thursday, November 17th from 8:30-9:30 AM in the FABTECH Theater Central Hall Lobby.
